Root Canal Treatment in Kolkata

Preserving your natural tooth starts with a careful diagnosis. Explore root canal treatment (RCT) and restorative care at Shauryaa Dental in Kolkata.

01

What is root canal treatment?

Root canal treatment, also called endodontic treatment, addresses inflamed or infected pulp inside a tooth. The canals are cleaned, filled and sealed, with the aim of retaining a tooth that can be restored.

02

Assessment before treatment

Toothache, lingering sensitivity or pain when biting should be assessed rather than assumed to need RCT. Tell the dentist about your symptoms and previous dental work. Examination and appropriate X-rays help establish the cause and whether the tooth can be saved.

03

Comfort and the treatment plan

Local anaesthesia is used during treatment. Discuss any anxiety with the team beforehand. The number of visits depends on the tooth and the findings; single-sitting treatment is not appropriate for every case. Ask about the proposed steps, alternatives and follow-up.

04

Restoring the tooth afterwards

Root canal care includes planning the final restoration. A filling or crown may be needed to protect the treated tooth, depending on the remaining tooth structure. Complete the recommended restoration and review visits; treatment does not remove the need for everyday cleaning.

Your questions, considered.

How much does root canal treatment cost in Kolkata?

The cost depends on the tooth, complexity and restoration required. Ask for an itemised estimate explaining treatment and any crown or other restoration separately.

Can root canal treatment be completed in one visit?

Sometimes, but the number of visits must be decided after assessment. We do not promise single-visit treatment for every tooth.

Will I need a crown after RCT?

Some treated teeth need a crown; others may be restored differently. Your dentist will explain what is appropriate for the remaining tooth structure.

Does every toothache need root canal treatment?

No. Tooth pain has several possible causes. A dental examination is needed before deciding on treatment.
