Medit i900 Intraoral Scanning in Kolkata
A clearer view of your teeth. Shauryaa Dental has invested in the Medit i900 system to support its digital dentistry and prosthodontic workflow.
Considered care
Meet the Medit i900
The Medit i900 is an intraoral scanner: a handheld device that records the surfaces of teeth and surrounding tissues as a digital 3D model. It gives the dental team a view of the mouth that can be reviewed on screen.
Paired with Apple MacBook Pro
Our Medit i900 system is paired with an Apple MacBook Pro for detailed on-screen review of digital impressions and an efficient scanning workflow. Together, they support clear visual communication as we review your scan and discuss your care. Scan quality and speed also depend on the clinical conditions and scanning technique.
What a scan involves
The dentist moves the scanner tip around your teeth to capture digital impressions. The model builds on screen, and areas can be reviewed as the scan progresses. Tell the team if you need a pause or have difficulty opening your mouth.
Part of a considered plan
Digital records can support discussion and planning for restorative care. At Shauryaa Dental, the investment sits within our focus on prosthodontics, with the dentist deciding when scanning is appropriate for your individual treatment.
Technology, with clinical judgement
A surface scan is not an X-ray or CBCT scan and does not show structures inside teeth or bone. It complements an examination; it does not replace diagnosis, other records when needed, or a discussion of treatment options. Owning a scanner does not guarantee a particular outcome or same-day treatment.
Enquire before your visit
Our practice opens on 5th November 2026 at 58, Southern Avenue, Lake Market, Kalighat, Kolkata. Ask the team whether digital scanning would be relevant to your consultation. Appointment availability, scanning needs, and any associated fees are confirmed individually.
Before your visit
Your questions, considered.
Does digital scanning replace every conventional impression?
Not necessarily. The dentist will choose the appropriate records for your mouth and proposed treatment. Conventional impressions may still be needed.
Is the Medit i900 the same as a CBCT scanner?
No. The i900 captures the visible surfaces of teeth and surrounding tissues to create a digital model. CBCT is a different imaging technique; the dentist decides whether additional imaging is indicated.
Can I book a scan on its own?
Please contact Shauryaa Dental to discuss your needs. The team will confirm whether a consultation or scan is appropriate, along with availability and fees. The practice opens on 5th November 2026.
